Originally from small-town Ontario, Canada, I have settled in New Orleans where I make short films, brave the swamps to go birdwatching, and teach Film Studies at Nicholls State University. I’m a Bread Loaf and Disquiet alumni and an active member of the New Orleans writing community. I have an MFA in Fiction from the University of New Orleans, where I also served as co-editor of Bayou Magazine.
I’m currently seeking representation for my debut upmarket novel, JOLENE, BEYOND COMPARE, about an irrepressible woman chasing her dream of becoming a stand-up comedian while raising a daughter andrunning from her trauma of escaping a psychedelic sex cult, while she’s on a Caribbean cruise.
