O Brother, Where Art We?
I’m thrilled and honored to be included in The Best Women’s Travel Writing, Volume 13 with an incredible selection of women writers, including Roxanne Gay, Susan Orlean, Ann Hood, and well, everyone. I love this anthology - creative nonfiction essays about women’s travel experiences on all seven continents. If you’re just learning about this series… Welcome! Bienvenue! Karibu! You will be enchanted and moved every time you pick up the book. I personally think savoring this collection over a season of daily coffee sessions is the way to go, but in any case, you will be transported to India, Croatia, Colombia, Norway, and many more countries during an array of time periods as well. The reflections of travel as a woman in the world are the best part. My essay is “O Brother, Where Art We?” a story about hitichhiking in New Zealand with my brother, Ken in 2005. I took more risks back then, which I learned is sometimes a life changing experience. The book is for sale wherever books are sold on June 9, 2026.
